Currently using http://www.renoise.com/ for midi tracking and my gosh what software. They made a lot of design choices just as i would make them and the thing is just superbly great for music. The renoise guys seem to be superb coders as well as having a lot of know how for making such software. Especially for people with tracker based muscle memory;)
I'm deciding if i want to use it full time or use more of my time making my own software, naprava.
There is only so much you can reinvent yourself:)
Other than that my software currently supports multitrack recording, i got the mixer/recorder concept done in my head, just have to code it. I could even use an external sequencer i guess.
There is also a biquad digital filter implementation in it, man these filter are damn easy, its just feedback with specific coefficients that get you a high pass, low pass, band pass, ... filter. It's not analogue modelling but it's sufficient:)
Will be building in spacial control of the samples soon (3d positioning impacts left/right and low pass filter settings)
All in all i'm having great fun developing this thing and even more fun actually doing something with it, like poking around my couple of synths.
